In 2019 our founder Laureen felt a call to start making a difference in our community. After reading a moving post on Facebook (read it here), about how most sexual assault victims who have had their clothing taken as evidence leave the hospital with no bra, mesh postpartum underwear and scrubs, she knew she had to take action. So she created HUGSSAV (Help Us Give Support to Sexual Assault Victims) , a nonprofit that supplies hospitals with bras, underwear, toiletries and comfort items to help the sexual assault survivors they treat feel as comfortable as possible. 

As we have continued to grow we have added socks, joggers and t-shirts to the kits we provide to the local hospitals. While we hope that there will be a day that HUGSSAV is no longer needed in our communities , we are on a mission to continue to grow and support survivors at their most vulnerable.
